We offer weekly, one and half day adult sewing courses,
along with weekly and one off children’s sewing courses.
We have been teaching sewing courses for over 15 years in our purpose built studio.
HALF DAY SEWING COURSES
Half day sewing courses include all materials & equipment..
We also provide tea / coffee with biscuits.
Know Your Sewing Machine
13th November Tuesday
1.00pm – 4.00pm
We will show you how to use your own sewing machine. Any brand of machine is welcome to this class.
Whether your machine is very basic with just a few stitches or has up to 50 stitches, then this is the class for you.
Learning how to thread your sewing machine is just the start of your learning possibilities.
ONE DAY SEWING COURSES
One day sewing courses include all materials & equipment.
We also provide tea / coffee with biscuits and a lovely two course lunch.
Know Your Overlocker
7th December Friday
10.00am – 3.30pm
Do you have an overlocker and lack confidence using the machine? We will show you how simple and easy it is to use.
This course will build your confidence to tackle many overlocking techniques. This course is taught by an overlocker specialist.
Please note you need to bring your overlocker with you and it must be in working order.
Know Your Sewing Machine (Computerized)
4th December Tuesday
10.00am – 4.00pm
You will learn how to use the different stitches on your machine, how to combine stitches and save them into the memories of your machine.
We will show you how to use the different accessory feet that came with your machine along with some extra ones.
You will stitch samples for you to refer to, covering dressmaking, embellishment, patchwork and quilting.
Please note you will need to bring your machine with you and your accessories.
This course is taught by a sewing machine specialist.
Know Your Embroidery Machine / Unit
5th December Wednesday
9.30am – 3.30pm
This is a follow on course to the one above. Once you have learnt how to use the sewing functions of your machine,
we will show you how to use your embroidery unit. We will cover embroidery placement,
combining designs within your machine’s capabilities along with rotation, mirroring, sizing and duplication.
You will use different fabrics, stabilizers, threads and needles.
Please note you will need to bring your sewing machine and embroidery unit with you.
This course is taught by a sewing machine specialist.

30th November Friday
Why not enjoy yourself at the start of the festive season by stitching a unique advent calendar for your family to enjoy.
Join this course and get creative with stiches and lovely fabrics.
WEEKLY SEWING COURSES
We will provide the sewing machines, overlockers & equipment along with tea / coffee and biscuits.
Each student will need to provide materials and other notions to make their projects.
These must be purchased in the shop before the course. Some of the courses have a set project to get you started.
You will learn at your own pace and sew what you like within your improving capabilities in a nurturing environment.

Your child would like to bring you along to this hands-on creative Christmas experience
of making a wonderful decoration to hang up over the festive season.
With a bit of fabric, felt, glitz and possibly the use of a sewing machine too.
You will have fun making a personalised decoration to take home for everyone to admire.
One child must attend with one adult.
This course is £15
Super Sewers 7 - 14 years
Know Your Sewing Machine!
4th January Friday
9.30am – 11.30pm
On this course, your child will be shown how to use a sewing machine safely.
Starting with learning how to thread the machine correctly,
they will then be shown how to hold and guide the fabric through the machine to sew a straight line of stitching
as well as learning about the correct use of stitches when finishing the edges of the fabric.
We will also cover the different features of the machine and what they would be used for when sewing.
The main emphasis of the course will be the safe use of the machine.
You are welcome to bring your sewing machine with you to this course, all materials are included.
This course is £40.
15th December Saturday
9.30am – 12.30pm
Learn how to sew an applique design on a sewing machine while making your very own technology bag,
This is perfect to carry your tablets and other electronic devices in.
This course is £50
Teens & Textiles 14 - 18 years
Jeans to Bag
8th December Saturday
10.00am – 2.00pm
Bring a pair of washed jeans to this recycling class and see how fun it can be to create something new from something old.
Choose from a selection of funky cotton fabrics to add that bit of individual personality.
It’s amazing what you can do with things you no longer wear.
This course is £50. Please bring a packed lunch with you.

Booking A Place
Please telephone or email us with your full name, address & telephone number,
along with the name and dates of the courses you wish to attend. Or send us the booking form at the end of the course brochure.
Terms & conditions
Each course under £60 has to be paid in full when booking.
Courses over £60 may be booked with a £25 non-refundable deposit per course.
The balance needs to be paid 4 weeks prior to the start of the course.
You can transfer to another course up to 4 weeks before the start of the course you have booked and not once it has started.
A transfer fee of £25 is payable. No refunds will be given on paying courses.
All courses take place in our studio at the shop.
We have the latest Husqvarna Viking, Janome & Babylock machines in the studio ready to use.
Please do not bring your sewing machine with you unless you are booked onto a Know Your Sewing Machine or Overlocker Course.
Your machine must be in good working order to use it on these specific course.
Please note, we will not be able to fix your machine on the day if it incurs a problem.

Market Street runs between the new Boots store on Coney Street and
the Disney Store on Parliament Square near the fountain.
Half way down Market street you will see Superdrug on a corner.
Walk round the corner onto Peter Lane,
where you will find us located on the right-hand side.
